I was recently over for dinner at a friends house. He brought out a few books that his dad had rescued from a local thrift store. One giant and slightly off smelling tome, called “The Creative Cooking Course”, is an opus to haute cuisine of the late 60’s and 70’s shown through the jaded eyes of 1982.
What makes this epic book so special is the images. They are shot in full seventies color and bring light to some of the culinary monstrosities considered edible and desirable by chefs at the time.
I tried to track this book down in its digital incarnation, however shocking it may be, there was none. So I am going to hand scan each and every image worth sharing.
This new feature will bring to light some of these incredible images as both a tribute and historical culinary record of glorious 70’s food.
Enjoy.
p.s. the book smells kind of mouldy.
